We all like to have our yards look great. It’s almost a competition, right? As soon as we have a reasonably cool day, we roll up our sleeves, put on our bug spray and gloves – and start to tackle those overgrown flower beds. Here in TX we are also raking leaves just about any time of the year. So what does this possibly have to do with plumbing?
Plumbing Repair Service Plano
Your water and sewer lines run underground, out of sight and out of mind. That is exactly where we want them, of course. But we do have access points for both. You have a water meter box with connections and valves that allow you to shut off your water into your house for needed repairs inside your home or in the event of an emergency.
You also should have sewer access to your main sewer pipes in your home. This is a set of larger pipes with removable covers, allowing your plumber to use a sewer machine to clean out your drains should they become plugged or stopped up.
Out of Sight, Out of Mind
It is important to keep these items in mind when you are landscaping yourself or if you have a professional landscaper do work in your yard. Try to keep these very important sites open and marked if possible for easy locating in the future.
A little extra care will pay off for you when you need to call a plumber. We very often spend much time trying to find these access points that have been buried by 6″ or more of beautiful landscaping materials.
It also would be a good idea when purchasing a home to have those access points located for you.
