Thanksgiving is just about here. I am so very thankful for so many things. God has blessed me richly with family, health and safety. Over the years I have learned that it is important to count your blessings and never take anything or anyone for granted. This will be my 4th Thanksgiving without my husband Gary. We had six children, 3 boys and 3 girls, and as a result have a very big family as they have all had children of their own. It is getting difficult to have just one Thanksgiving location for dinner. I am looking forward to seeing many grand and great-grand kids at some point. The main thing is that we have set aside some time to thank God for his goodness and mercy and grace in our lives.
From our family to your family Gary’s Quality Plumbing wishes you a very Happy Thanksgiving.
How to Keep Your Garbage Disposal Healthy
Now for some plumbing advice to consider when planning for all this cooking. We always try to remind you that your garbage disposal can be a friend or foe when you are preparing or cleaning up after dinner. Be careful what you put down the garbage disposal. Avoid coffee grounds and egg shells. And after the disposal has taken care of grinding up and doing its job, run the cold water a little bit longer to clear. Often we don’t run the water long enough to move the garbage far enough along. Be careful not to drop silverware or skewers down the disposal and check for bottle caps as you are cleaning up. These are things we have been called out for when the disposal stops working. Use your guard and don’t ever put your fingers near the opening.
