Plumber vs Handyman: What’s the Difference?

July 10, 2018 by Dorothy Skinner 3 Comments

Plumbing Repair, the American Standard Plumber and the Health of the Nation. We’ve all seen inquiries online, someone looking for a person that can do some plumbing repair around the house. “Does anyone know of someone that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg to come out?”

And someone always answers, “oh yes, I know a local handyman that can come over and take care of that for you. Just call ‘so and so,’ and mention I referred you.”

Before you make that call, consider the difference between a licensed, insured plumber, and a handyman. [Read more…] about Plumber vs Handyman: What’s the Difference?

Happy Thanksgiving – and a Holiday Cleanup Tip

November 17, 2017 by Dorothy Skinner Leave a Comment

Happy Thanksgiving from Gary's Quality Plumbing.Thanksgiving is just about here. I am so very thankful for so many things. God has blessed me richly with family, health and safety. Over the years I have learned that it is important to count your blessings and never take anything or anyone for granted. This will be my 4th Thanksgiving without my husband Gary.  We had six children, 3 boys and 3 girls, and as a result have a very big family as they have all had children of their own. It is getting difficult to have just one Thanksgiving location for dinner. I am looking forward to seeing many grand and great-grand  kids at some point.  The main thing is that we have set aside some time to thank God for his goodness and mercy and grace in our lives.

From  our family to your family Gary’s Quality Plumbing wishes you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Why You Need Outdoor Sewer Clean-Out Access

July 20, 2017 by Dorothy Skinner Leave a Comment

A recent edition of Plumber Magazine reminds us to promote the benefits of outdoor sewer clean-out access to customers. Since we have had a few of these installations recently I thought it would be good to get this information out to you in our blog and newsletter.

A blocked sewer main is serviced through the outdoor sewer clean-out access point.
A plumber unclogs a sewer drain with his plumbing snake and tools.

Out of Sight, Out of Mind?

October 5, 2016 by Dorothy Skinner Leave a Comment

Plumbing repair service Plano reminds you that access is beneath this beautiful landscaping.
We all like to have our yards look great. It’s almost a competition, right?  As soon as we have a reasonably cool day, we roll up our sleeves, put on our bug spray and gloves – and start to tackle those overgrown flower beds. Here in TX we are also raking leaves just about any time of the year. So what does this possibly have to do with plumbing? [Read more…] about Out of Sight, Out of Mind?
