Happy Thanksgiving – and a Holiday Cleanup Tip

Happy Thanksgiving from Gary's Quality Plumbing.Thanksgiving is just about here. I am so very thankful for so many things. God has blessed me richly with family, health and safety. Over the years I have learned that it is important to count your blessings and never take anything or anyone for granted. This will be my 4th Thanksgiving without my husband Gary.  We had six children, 3 boys and 3 girls, and as a result have a very big family as they have all had children of their own. It is getting difficult to have just one Thanksgiving location for dinner. I am looking forward to seeing many grand and great-grand  kids at some point.  The main thing is that we have set aside some time to thank God for his goodness and mercy and grace in our lives.

From  our family to your family Gary’s Quality Plumbing wishes you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Have you noticed that the leaves are subtly turning here? I don’t have any trees that turn colors when I look out my window and so it was really a beautiful sight to drive along the creek and park near my house and see the colorful trees lining the area. It is time to enjoy them because in a blink the color will disappear. We don’t always have a Fall season to count on because it seems like we go directly from summer to winter here. I love this time of year when we get a break from air conditioning and heating for a short while.

Many outlying areas were down to 30 degrees last night already which was the coldest night of the season so far. It very likely won’t get down to freezing around here long enough to cause damage for the near future but here is some advice for things you should do now to prepare. Water Leak Detection: Stop That Plumbing Leak

Originally featured in The OffBeat Business Magazine January 2017 edition.

By Dorothy Skinner

Some leaks are obvious and show themselves readily; other plumbing leaks aren’t apparent unless you know what to look for. The leaks that are harder to find can do far more damage than those that are easily noticed. Many homeowners don’t realize that many of the faucets and handles available today consist of plastic parts that easily crack under frequent use, and replacement washers aren’t helpful in the newer washerless designs. When that is the case, water leaks can end up puddling in an area that may not be readily visible, and you’re going to have to look a little harder to see if damage is evident.
