Plumber vs Handyman: What’s the Difference?

Plumbing Repair, the American Standard Plumber and the Health of the Nation.We’ve all seen inquiries online, someone looking for a person that can do some plumbing repair around the house. “Does anyone know of someone that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg to come out?”

And someone always answers, “oh yes, I know a local handyman that can come over and take care of that for you. Just call ‘so and so,’ and mention I referred you.”

Memorial Day – Honoring Those Who Gave All

A red poppy for Memorial Day.It is officially the start of the summer season and we are planning the first picnics and camping trips for this weekend. Let’s use some of this time to teach our children the meaning of this celebration. We respect and honor those men and women that have died so we may live in freedom in this great country and we thank the families that have had to carry on without them.

The National Moment of Remembrance encourages all Americans to pause wherever they are at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have died in service to the nation. As Moment of Remembrance founder Carmella LaSpada states: "It's a way we can all help put the memorial back in Memorial Day."

“We Shall Keep the Faith”
By Moina Michael

Oh! You who sleep in Flanders fields,
Sleep sweet – to rise anew!
We caught the torch you threw
And holding high, we keep the Faith
With All who died

We cherish, too, the poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led;
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies,
But lends a lustre to the red
Of the flower that blooms above the dead
In Flanders field

And now the Torch and Poppy Red
We wear in honor of our dead
Fear not that ye have died for naught;
We’ll teach the lesson that you wrought
In Flanders field

Simple Gas Line Leak Test Can Save Your Life

With the actual Thanksgiving Day in our rearview mirror, many of us are still enjoying the holiday over the weekend. I know I am and hope you are too. We are still going to have family time with the ones that we have gotten together with yet. It’s my favorite holiday time and season.

Meanwhile, online and brick and mortar stores are frantic to get you in to make an unbelievable Black Friday deal. I personally don’t care to rush around in a store and try to beat someone else to a special buy. But if you enjoy doing that I hope you have a successful shopping experience.
