Have Your Shower Pan Replaced Correctly

July 30, 2012 by Dorothy Skinner Leave a Comment

Nasty, loose tiles around your bathtub? Is water leaking onto your floor from beneath your shower? If your shower pan needs to be replaced, waiting is only going to cause you more problems. That rotten wood under and behind the shower is the perfect breeding ground for termites, roaches, and rodents.

Sometimes our phone will ring with a homeowner on the other end, frustrated because he or she just spend hundreds of dollars on a shower pan replacement that they hired a handyman for. They see water where it shouldn’t be coming out, and can tell they have a much bigger problem on their hands now. Because of a poor understanding of the replacement process, that new material has to be removed so the shower pan can be installed correctly.

This isn’t a choice. Without a correctly installed shower pan in place, your home will continue to deteriorate. Even when you don’t see visible signs of water right away, over time, a poor installation can’t be ignored. Odor and mold inevitably appear.

Complete sealing is mandatory. Understanding the entire process and structure is important. Don’t settle for less. Call Gary’s Quality Plumbing first, and avoid the hassle of property damage.
