It is officially the start of the summer season and we are planning the first picnics and camping trips for this weekend. Let’s use some of this time to teach our children the meaning of this celebration. We respect and honor those men and women that have died so we may live in freedom in this great country and we thank the families that have had to carry on without them.
The National Moment of Remembrance encourages all Americans to pause wherever they are at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have died in service to the nation. As Moment of Remembrance founder Carmella LaSpada states: "It's a way we can all help put the memorial back in Memorial Day."
