Who doesn’t want a kitchen and bathroom makeover? I mean, we all have a natural desire to upgrade our bathroom and kitchen fixtures from time to time, especially when the manufacturers are designing and producing such beautiful and functional items. Without change, our homes begin to look dated and out of style. This time of the year especially when we are thinking of the upcoming holidays – still in the distant future – but hey, we need time to get all this done, right? All of our guests see the kitchen and bathrooms.
We can do this upgrade on a large or small budget. But remember to consider the entire job.
A problem we encounter is that once we have purchased our new fixtures, we expect to find a reputable, qualified plumbing company to install our purchase – and by the way, we don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on the install.
We have already exhausted our budget on the fixtures. Anything done on the actual install is now of paramount importance to be quality, but do we really want to cut corners now? Don’t you want to be proud of the complete job? Unfortunately the plumber often goes in and is met with a homeowner that already believes he is there to rip them off for labor charges. You can see that this is not a good way to begin a business relationship.
How can this possibly turn out to be a good situation?
Well, I think a good way to make sure this does not turn out badly is to do your homework. Check on the reputation of the plumbing company that you choose to do your work. Check out their license on the Texas State Board of Examiner’s website. Does the company have the required insurance? And a referral from a neighbor, relative or friend tells you that they have used this company and are well satisfied with the work done.
When checking prices, be sure to compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges.
The price given per hour vs. the price given per job can make a huge difference. We will work with you on a firm quotation or do your work actual time and materials used to complete your job.
We have had customers tell us that they used “EFG Plumbing” and although they were quoted a price for the work, they were not informed of additional costs, like the service or trip charge, possible permit requirements, or other miscellaneous charges. So while you may like the price you hear it is wise to get it in writing and not count on total recall during the billing phase.
If you are on a tight budget with your remodel, we will help you find beautiful, quality fixtures to fit that budget.
