Blue Pipes Are Unreliable in Texas Soil

October 21, 2013 by Dorothy Skinner Leave a Comment

Flooded front yard. The ground is shifting again, my friends. It seems like I’m talking about this all the time! Soil conditions cause stress on the water pipe going into your home. Hard ground acts like a saw and eventually cuts into those pipes. Water leaks in your front yard are commonly because of this, but sometimes – it’s merely a matter of unreliable blue pipes!

When we dig into your yard at the leak site and find blue pipes, we already know what’s going on. Once upon a time, they were trusted methods of bringing water into the home. Enough time’s gone past to know that’s not the case anymore. When we dig down and find the dreaded ‘blue’ pipe, we know that we can’t warranty a repair on it. We can be making a repair on one part, and another leak will develop just a little further down the line! We always recommend that a new water line be put in, rather than make a repair to a bad line.

If you see standing water in your yard, give us a call to see what is causing it. We will solve the problem if it is water line or sprinkler leak. Call Gary’s Quality Plumbing for peace of mind that ‘We Do It Right!’ 972-424-6479.

Psst … you can still get in on our October Columbus Day Special till the end of the month!
