Water conservation is still a hot button in Plano, and I doubt that will change any time soon! It’s important to make good water choices, to be a good steward of the things we’re blessed with.
If we can save some water when we flush our toilets, what a simple way to do it!
In the old days, that wasn’t a good deal for any of us because lower flush toilets didn’t evacuate as they claimed they would. Today, low-flush toilets work effectively and save bunches of money and gallons of water.
If you live in the Plano city limits, there’s still a good incentive to replace that older toilet if you haven’t yet. If you own a property here in Plano, you can get rebates on up to three toilet replacements to help offset the costs involved. You’ll need a licensed plumber (Yup, that’s us!) and the toilets must have been installed prior to 1992.

HETs (High Efficiency Toilets) are credited to you as follows:
- $100 credit for the first toilet
- $75 credit for the second toilet
- $50 credit for the third toilet
These credits will show up on your utility bill if you return the application, receipt, and certification of installation (i.e. invoice from licensed plumber who installed the toilet, picture of newly installed HET, etc.) within 30 days of installation or no longer than 120 days from date of purchase to the City of Plano.
